In 1959, Pat Frank wrote one of the first novels dealing with life after a nuclear war. His story didn't deal with the actual war, with politics, or with action adventure, but with how individuals and a community can cope with the devastating impact of a nuclear conflict. Half a century later, the Soviet Union may have fallen and the West may have decided to forget about the atrocities of Red China, but the threat of a nuclear exchange continues. In many ways the danger has actually increased with the proliferation of nuclear technology, material, and equipment to extremist states such Iran, North Korea's entrance into the club of nuclear armed nations, and the black market sale of nuclear material in former Soviet states to terrorists and third world militaries. This site is dedicated to issues related to surviving a nuclear exchange involving your region and, if necessary, surviving for a prolonged period of time without outside assistance. All issues from developing a bug-out plan, preparing supplies, treating injuries, and meeting the other needs of you and your community will be discussed.
